Tungsten-alloy shrapnel might cause cancer

This is an amazing headline. A question first. When was the last time you ate some tungsten-alloy? Now assuming you have never eaten any metals here is another question. What are you more worried about cancer from shrapnel or catching shrapnel in the first place? And where do they get money to research this?

I am not questioning the research. No doubt this guy is a legit scientist. But what in hell are they doing worrying about the cancer you might get from shrapnel? This is not "you might get cancer if you touch the metal on the hood of the car" this is "if you get shot, step on a land mine, or eat a lot of metal you might get cancer." Yeah thats what I am worried about. I am going to call my doctor immediately next time I step on a land mine and ask "Hey Doc, I just stepped on a land mine. Do you think I will get cancer?" Amazing is all I can say.
